It’s natural to want to better understand the investment you’re signing up for when entering counseling. Read on to learn more about my intake, insurance, and payment options. Through our work together, your investment with your time, energy, and resources will help you feel more supported as a parent as you create the kind of home environment you want for your family.

Intake + Fees

When I begin to work with a family, I prefer to have an initial telephone consultation to answer any questions and then proceed with scheduling the initial intake-appointment. There is no charge for the telephone call as it provides us with the opportunity to speak freely and get a better sense of the work we might do together in therapy. After the initial telephone consultation, an intake appointment is scheduled, and I will provide additional information regarding my fee schedule, and billing procedures. Read on for more information about insurance.

Insurance Options

I am a preferred provider with First Choice Health, Regence BlueShield, and Premera Blue Cross, and I am an out-of-network provider for other insurance plans. I strongly encourage you to contact your insurance company before your initial appointment to inquire about your mental health benefits. Your insurance provider should be able to provide you with information that is specific to your plan, any deductible that you may be responsible for, or any pre-approval or referrals that may be required by your individual insurance policy.

Private Pay Options

Some individuals choose to pay out-of-pocket for therapy services in order to maintain privacy and avoid some of the constraints that insurance companies impose on therapeutic services (i.e., the necessity of assigning a diagnosis, a pre-determined amount of sessions allocated to the client, access to clinical records). Please feel free to discuss this with me if you have any questions or if this is an option that you find preferable.

Cancellation Policy

Because an appointment slot is time that is saved specifically for you, there will be an $85 charge for appointments that are missed or are canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice. This fee is not payable by insurance.
